Eligibility and Forms
- Applicants must qualify according to each program's unique income requirements in order to be placed on the waiting list.
- Applicants who are eligible for a Preference (i.e., units condemned by Health Department, victims of hate crimes, domestic violence or fire disaster, household who resides in a COC property undergoing revitalization) must provide verification.
- Once the applicant reaches the top of any waiting list (once have vacant unit and perform initial screening), the head of household, spouse and all family members of 18 years of age or more will be screened, based on all income sources including but not limited to the verification of credit and criminal background.
- Applicants must confirm their citizenship status (HUD requirement) if born outside of the United States. Permitted forms are: a United States passport, a resident card or an authorization work permit which is a legal document for illegal aliens which assigns them a social security number.
- Applicants who are applying for any of our Elderly/Disabled programs must meet the following:
Elderly - you must be 62 years of age or more
Disabled - you must be unable to do substantial work because of your medical condition
Near Elderly - you must be 55 years of age or more at the date of the application.
