Director of Operations - Property Management & Facilities

Position Summary: This is a highly responsible management position that supervises and directs all aspects of property and facilities management for the COC-owned and managed portfolio with an additional emphasis on ongoing procurement and energy efficiency initiatives. The work requires a thorough understanding of the affordable housing industry and programs, personnel and business management and customer service.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree is required. In addition, a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in property management, maintenance or related experience, with five (5) of those years in a supervisory capacity is compulsory.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree with additional years of experience in above related fields is required. Additional five (5) years of experience may be substituted for one (1) year of education.
Must currently be Public Housing Management Certified (PHM), Certified Manager of Maintenance (CMM) and Tax Credit Certified (TCC), or the ability to be certified within one (1) year of hire.

Part-Time Certified Nursing Assistant- Scofield Manor

Position Summary: Responsible for arranging work to share the duties of caring for up to 50 residents requiring some help with activities of daily living. This position may be responsible for medication management, under the direction of the Consulting Nurse. Also responsible for the orderliness of the facility during hours when other administrative staff are off duty.  This position reports to an Administrator.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: High School graduate.  Minimum of one year experience working with elderly, mentally or physically challenged.

Part-Time Resident Attendant – Wormser Congregate

Position Summary: The primary responsibilities are to ensure the safety and security of all residents and orderliness of the facility at all times. In addition, organize and participate in daily resident activities.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: High School Diploma required. First Aid and CPR certified required, or within 60 days of hire. Minimum of one year experience working with the elderly. Knowledge of Microsoft Skills.

Housing Inspector

Position Summary: This position is responsible for planning and executing all of the organizations’ property and unit inspections utilizing relevant inspection standards to insure timely response to deficiencies, referral of problems to property management and to maintain all properties in good repair.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in a related discipline is mandatory.   In addition, a minimum of four years of experience in inspection and evaluation of dwelling units is required.   Construction and/or rehabilitation experience will be considered if combined with proven  multiple and general trades experience (Plumbing; Heating & Air Conditioning; Electrical; Carpentry; Masonry).  Additional years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement with two years experience replacing one year of college.  Graduation from an accredited High School or GED is a minimum requirement.  Fluent in English.  Spanish, Creole or other foreign language skills preferred.

Custodian

Licensed Practical Nurse - Scofield Manor

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Nurse Manager (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will have direct patient care to the residents at Scofield Manor. The LPN participates in obtaining patient information, providing assessment, planning, delivery of medication and supervision of care.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: A Connecticut Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification is required.  A minimum of two (2) years LPN experience and one (1) year management experience is required. Experience working with people of all ages and providing diverse services to a varied population is also required.

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in general office work is compulsory. Additional years of education from an accredited college or university may be substituted for experience with one (1) year of education replacing two (2) years of experience. Being bilingual would be an asset.
